Homelessness in America
Homelessness is a huge issue in the United States--in fact, over 500,000 thousand people are living on the streets. This includes men, women, and even children. Job opportunities are decreasing and the minimum wage is increasing, resulting in more and more people on the streets. This is why we must do everything we can to help. The Continuum of Care (CoC) program is the “front door” for homelessness services across the country. A 2-1-1 hotline is available in many communities and offers trained staff 24/7 to help residents access services like shelter, health care, food, and other social services programs.
What is a Pun?
Well, a pun is a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of very different and interesting words. A pun is also words that sound alike but have different meanings. People tell each other puns to make each other laugh, because when there is a play on words is simply hilarious.

Write-Up Exercise: Self Reflection
“People say I….”
Am really easygoing. This is so far from the truth, I almost laugh when they tell me this. I am not a “go with the flow” kind of person. I like schedules and organization. It stresses me out when everything isn’t going smoothly.
What is it that your friends or family say about you?
My friends and family say I’m very calm, which is true—but only on the outside. On the inside I’m crazier than Wacky Al. My brain never shuts off, I’m constantly finding things to distract myself so I can settle my nerves. I just can’t sit still. I think people mistake calm for just being quiet, because internally, I’m not even close to calm.
What do they know about you?
They know that I’m good at projects. Projects I’m interested in anyways. When I put my mind to something, it usually has a good result. They also know that i’m a perfectionist. Everything always has to be perfect and It’s pretty exhausting sometimes. It makes things I like doing not fun because if they don’t turn out good, I feel like I failed.
Is it true or is something missing in the picture they have of you?
It is extremely true. Maybe even truer then they would believe.

Value Definition and Examples
Value is a technical term related to color, or it can be a more subjective term related to either the importance of a work or its worth. Photos that represent value are often very dramatic and eye-catching. This is because the capturing of light plays a huge part in creating value. Darker tones and lighter tones give a photo value, as can be seem by the pictures below. For a great example of value in action, think of a black and white photograph. You can easily visualize how the infinite variations of gray give the photo lots of texture.
Negative Space Ideas and Summary
Negative space is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image. In photography, photos with lots of negative space tend to invoke a dramatic and thoughtful state. Photos like this are often taken in black and white. Knowing what negative space is plays a huge part in a photographer's career. This is why is is so important that I, and my fellow students, understand the concept of it. Space in general is a element of art the I feel is not well appreciated This is why when I take my photos I plan to display the very definition of negative space right though my photos. Some ideas for this would be an empty soda bottle against a colorful background, or a girl standing in a field of wheat.

Shape Photography Summary and Examples
Shape is essential in photography. Whether it's a round clock or rushing water, everything you take a picture of has some sort of shape. In any type of art, shape helps create complex drawings and paintings and contributes to the balance within a work. To create and highlight shape in photography, you have to use contrast. An example of this would be a single, yellow flower with the blue sky in the background. The blue and yellow create contrast, highlighting the shape of the flower. While taking photos, I plan to exploit the shape of my subject matters by using things such as the rule of thirds, diagonal composition and contrast.
Some of my Ideas for my Shape Photos
-Purple flower surrounded by green leaves.
-Tree with blue sky in the backround
-Blue bike with a white wall in the backround
-Person in front of a white wall
-One orange leave surrounded by regular leaves

Texture Photography Summary and Examples
Texture is the visual, tangible, and tactile quality of a surface. It's whether an object is smooth or whether an object is rough. Texture used in photography is understanding the feel of a photo, this meaning that when you look at a photo of an object, you can visualize the roughness or softness of that object. I, Camie Graves, plan to display this through my photography by taking pictures of rough objects such as rock and wood. By taking pictures of rough objects, I will be able to display the value of the texture on an entirely different level.
